i was able to sneak away from kitchen duty and re-do my blog and knock out a few layouts:
the first is for pink sketches #35. i'm really lovin' the sketches. the other two are just two others i did. hee hee.
i picked up the new CK today and saw two SC girls all over it...Davinie and Emily. congrats! it's nice to pick up the mag and look through it and actually recognize names and faces! well, not always their faces, but i recognize the people in the photos from their layouts. pretty cool.
ugh. so, off to gym, then off to bee's i think for bfart. i have sunburn. doy. that's what happens in tx midday sun. i wasn't even out for 30 minutes. i had my ipod on and wasn't paying attention. mich was being a goofball in and out of the house and o-ster was napping. and i completely enjoyed relaxing in the sun. wonderful. it was far better than laying out at our old house. it was bees and grasshoppers galore. i mean you couldn't even walk without getting attacked. here, i think b/c we're up on a hill we don't have many bugs. usually pretty breezy. that and they aren't hiding in the weeds waiting to attack. we actually have grass. i'm rambling.
we do have turkeys though. saw another one today in the field down the hill from us. ran inside to get my camera but by the time i got back she was gone. bye turkey. now i'm REALLY rambling.
have a fab friday!!! oh, anyone make sweet potato fries in the oven? they tasted awesome but very rather soggy. any suggestions on how to get them crisp like regular oven baked potato fries?

love the blog look! And I'll be watching for those sweet potato fry suggestions.....
Love the new look! Your LO's are awesome as always. I love looking through mags and recognizing the names, but usually I recognize the kids first. How funny huh? My tip for sweet potatoe fries (I love them!)is a bit of evoo as rachael ray says (extra virgin olive oil) It works for me! :-)
OK...not to skip to the food first, but you can cut the sweet potatoes into chips rather than fries - the thinner the crisper. Drizzle oil on a baking sheet, put potatoes on sheet and mix it up with your hands then smooth out in a single layer. Salt and pepper. Bake until crispy. NUM!
Now to what I should have said first...excellent layouts! I need to check out pink sketches for the weekend. Need some motivation to finish up the challenges from last week.
OK...turkeys are mean buggers. They are also faster than me. Maybe you can run faster than them, but be aware that they may try to peck you and eat you whole. LOL! Yikes.
Love your blog layout:) I have gotta update my look!
Your layouts are stunning. The one with the circles is super cute and I love Leaving on a Jet plane lots!
Here's my recipe. Ymmo
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. paprika
3 med sweet potatoes
2 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese, if desired
425 degrees F. Lightly butter 15x10 inch jelly roll pan. In small saucepan, melt butter; stir in salt, pepper and paprika. slice spuds into very thin slices. Arrange evenly in prepared pan. Brush butter mixture over spuds. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes or until crisp and golden, stirring twice during baking so that slices brown evenly. Sprinkle with cheese.
cute layouts! love the photo collage in the first one! i have nothing to give you in the form of recipes... we eat a lot of take out and frozen meals. those lean cuisine ones really are a delight. :) have a great weekend!
