Ideas, Video, RAK

on to the movie first. aimee and sheree helped me make this. sheree had to leave 1/4 of the way through, but aimee provides plenty of comic relief throughout. i got the idea for these minis in the current issue of SBE, but the directions weren't all that detailed. so i improvised on the binding and put together this little gem.

it's kind of long. but i got a chuckle out of watching it. please forgive my dork-like state, my lousy voice (not quite 2 weeks after a tonsillectomy), and my fairly crappy explanation of things.

Felt Mini Book How-To from karenmataraza on Vimeo.

so, when we moved in to our house last year, i suggested taking the closet doors off in the spare room to put in shelving for my crafts on one side and shelving for the computer crap on the other side. then i ran across this in the latest issue of CK. hmmmm....these two pics look really familiar. except the one room is reeealy cute, and the other, well, the only thing nice about the other one is my nana's cross.

i can totally see this in my room. the opposite page of the article (where the table it) is similar to mine except that i have two windows. there are more pics of this 'diy craft room' online, so you can check out her other awesome storage ideas if you like. anywho, i'm really stoked. so much that i went today to price shelves. it won't be too bad. i can even get the cheaper shelves b/c mich and owen really don't mess with my stuff all that much (surprise).

ok, if you've made it this far, you really deserve a treat. so...since i'm at over 300 posts (i think 325-ish) and well on the way to get 26,000 hits to the ol' blog...
if you reply with a comment to this post, i'll randomly enter you for a chance to win a little goodie bag of stuff. it will include some my homemade flower embellies (your color choice: pinks, blues, greens, oranges, neutrals) and a set of day of the week tags and most likely some other goodies as well! (you'll get all the days of the week; pic is just an example.)

so, you have until TUESDAY morning (5/12) to comment. i'll pick a winner around 10am CST.

have a stunning Saturday!

your video was so fun...i especially liked the visits from the Star Wars characters & Papa Smurf. that little book is totally cute, i wonder if my sewing machine could stitch through all that, what kind of needle do you use? love your flower embellies too!!!

Hello! I found you through Studio Calico :)

Thanks so much for that video! I'm so intimidated by sewing but you make it look so easy. I really really really want to sew on my scrapbook pages but am so afraid I will mess up. In fact, my mom bought me a sewing machine for Christmas a few years ago but it's still sitting in my garage because I'm too scared to take it out! Well, after watching your video I'm going to take it out and try it! I can't tell you enough how much this has helped!

That doesn't look like a porn video to me. ;o) I prefer you felt mini to that anyway. Cute project that I definitely have to do. Maybe Aimee can come provide some comic relief for me. She is an excellent assistant.

Wonderful felt mini... and the directions were clear, which is great :-) Love the demo and the comic relief... did Aimee get the actors guild's going rate or did she do this pro bono? ;-) Good luck with your craft room make over and the embellies are lovely.
