creepy...

i saw this on msn this morning. very creepy. it's actually the first known recorded sound. done by a frenchman back in 1860. so, really it wasn't edison i guess. edison was the first to record and have a way of playing it back...which is really the whole point.

but anyway, go to this link and click on the mp3 link for Au Claire de la Lune (by the light of the moon). you can't understand any of what he's saying and not just b/c it's in french...i have no idea how these archivists figured it all out but anyway, pretty spooky!!!
